The Songbook Project

Do you love American folk music, music theater, and jazz? Do you enjoy playing an instrument or singing with others?  We host recurring workshops where participants investigate the cultural and historical context of the “Great American Songbook” and work together to create unique musical performances of selected repertoire.

These are exciting opportunities to examine music from contrasting perspectives, and co-create original interpretations of standard repertoire rooted in historical context. This workshop is suitable for all musicians (classical, contemporary, jazz, beginner, experienced, etc), and will be enjoyable and productive for all.

This workshop is led by Becca Woodbury & Hannah Mowry.

This workshop is perfect! It provides a supportive, intimate environment to learn the basics of jazz improvisation and explore arranging your own jazz standard. It will leave you wanting to come back for more. And even if you are already a seasoned jazzer you can use this supportive space to challenge yourself.
